I usually like to get a shot of the scarecrow in the walled garden when we visit Hinton Ampner. I found the same gentleman scarecrow who was there before, this time having a tea break.
A small and belated September update for 2024, where I am still, after many years' membership, on 365 Project, also now posting elsewhere but wanting...
He is just simply wonderful!!!! He reminds me of a book I love to read to my students, "The Little Old Lady Who Wasn't Afraid of Anything." That gives me the idea to pull the tag of scarecrow up when I read it to them. If there was a contest, I think yours would win.
He is a handsome fella and his garden is very neat and tidy with great onions. He deserves a nice cup of tea after all that work. Lovely capture I think you have a soft spot for him with his lipstick on.
Bizarre, I just wrote to my lovely 90 year old Auntie Betty and said I always love to get a portrait of this scarecrow (and sent her his pic) - so you are right!
Rosie, thanks - he's quite photogenic!
I noticed that - wonder if it's intentional?!
Great find.
You made me smile and thanks for your comments! I think this scarecrow would also not be afraid of anything!
