On an unseasonably warm afternoon (21C) we visited Mottisfont Abbey again.
The sun shone and there were more visitors than on our previous visit but it was easily possible to practice social distancing.
Having made the effort to get off my scooter to try for a macro shot of a magnolia bloom which was not very successful I asked Ray to take me a selfie - which he did, of course.
My new scooter is wonderfully comfortable, the pneumatic tyres and great suspension coping well with any uneven paths. My only regret is that it did not come in purple - but the red is good and I'm not really complaining.
To think that about 18 months ago I was able to walk this trip - c'est la vie and all that and just a question of doing my best every day.
Boots with a history: originally pale purple suede which faded to brown; Ray bought some dye online but it was more blue than purple; nothing daunted he bought some more, deep purple and what you see. Because the dye is painted on, no need to polish the leather. I unwittingly wore them to get my Co-vid vaccination and they caused no end of a stir!!!
Yes, the last scooter had a basket on the front. This one has the same plus a large bag with 2 compartments on the back - no need for a camera bag. Hope you are having a nice Easter Wendy - it cannot be so easy.
Yes look on the bright side Hazel...such wonderful inventions to get you about these days...I’m sure we would all not hesitate to use one when necessary!

I admit to being a little embarrassed when I first started using a scooter but I've got over that now. My purple boots often draw comments, so much so when I wore them to get my first vaccination that I think I'll make a point of wearing them for my second. Anything to cause a little interest and good feeling in these often dreary times. Bless you all!
It is a lovely photo. I hope today's bad weather doesn't spoil the blossom. We count magnolia trees on our lockdown walks .... something to beat the boredom of lockdown . Stay safe
@quietpurplehaze You will be known as the lady with the purple boots.....I once had a pair of red ones. I arranged to meet up with some 365ers @juduthg for my very first meet up...the red boots were my identification!
Pat, I have 2 pairs of red ones too! A bright red lightweight pair and my oldest pair in faded red suede which are the only ones I can put on by myself. Also have a grey pair and a mauve pair. As I hardly walk out I think they will last me out!!!
