Jenny & Grace planned to take us to the Cape today for our “beach day,” but the weather showed rain rolling across the Hyannis area, so we opted for the Revere Beach instead.
Established in 1896, Revere Beach was the first public beach in the U.S.; http://reverebeach.com/ It has also been the site of an annual sand sculpting competition. The 9th Annual Revere Beach National Sand Sculpting Festival was held this year Thursday, July 12–Sunday, July 15. While we missed the activities associated with the festival — http://reverebeachpartnership.com/sandsculpting/ — most of the sculptures were still [mostly] intact by our arrival today on July 19.
Note. Again, I did set the date-and-time on my new P&S, but I obviously set the time after noon with a before-noon time; this shot was not taken at almost-11 p.m. the evening before!
