Egyptian star flower

I posted an image of this species before, but only in B&W — http://365project.org/rhoing/365/2013-02-11 — here it is in color. The flowers also come in magenta, lilac & white.

As much as I would like to say I captured the detail of the flowers with my expensive macro lens, the truth is that this was taken with a Nikon point-and-shoot camera with macro mode enabled…
