One tradition continues

Pillsbury’s “Orange Sweet Rolls with Icing.” As posted nearly three years ago — http://365project.org/rhoing/365/2011-12-25 — this holiday morning treat is a tradition that goes back to *my* childhood. My maternal grandmother’s only sister (my mom’s dear Aunt Helen) was a businesswoman in the food brokerage business and this was a product she “pushed.” It was served on holidays — e.g., Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter — when we drove the 15 minutes from our house to the house my never-married great-aunt shared with her widowed sister (my grandmother) and their mother. Find Pillsbury’s “Orange Sweet Rolls with Icing” in your grocer’s dairy case. :)

I think the point-and-shoot — on the “Food” setting — did a pretty good job of getting food colors “right.”

A tradition missed this year: The Gobble³ run in Somerville, MA — http://365project.org/rhoing/365/2012-11-22 and http://365project.org/rhoing/365/2011-11-24 — but this should be understandable from yesterday’s post. Running 4 miles in snow and ice is just not smart at my age … and even the young people agreed.
