(Or "København" if you prefer!) Our flight arrived about 7 a.m. in Copenhagen (midnight the previous night in St. Louis and 1 a.m. on the east coast). We were met at the airport and taken by taxi to the Scandic Palace Hotel, http://www.scandichotels.com/Hotels/Denmark/Copenhagen/Scandic-Palace-Hotel/
where they let us check in at 8 a.m.! We didn't think we could check in before noon or even later, but they were ready for us.
We settled in and took a short nap before setting out to explore on our own before dinner with the group in the evening. This is the view from our room on the back side of the hotel, making this street Mikkel Bryggers Gade.
At the end of the street on the far side is a very-full bike rack. We were told that the greater pedestrian danger is not autos, but bicycles, and that the number of bicycles in Copenhagen exceeds the population. (Many folks have more than one.)

@cejaanderson I do, too — more bicycles and more trains. But look at how physically large-and-expansive our country is. Four days in København and 3½ days in Stockholm, but only one-post-per-day!
