Stuffing peppers

Today we hosted our niece and her boyfriend for dinner. Our niece, Liz — http://365project.org/tags/tmliz — is "vegan" and Clare found a really great recipe for stuffed peppers. I was in charge of decapitating the capsicums, and I thought this might make a good food-photo.

I took several shots and what Jane — http://365project.org/cejaanderson — commented recently hit me today: “still-life shots … are so much more difficult to get right than it seems they should be.” Hear, hear! Even without flash there is just too much bright "noise" in the wet "flesh" of these pepper-tops. In the end, my first frame was best.

And even when I don't do plants I do plants, it seems. :-\

Stuck-down the loose piece of tile today. After the glue dries: grout.

Looks good with all the bright colours and the bokeh of the knife in the background. Middle son was a vegan for some time. All I can say is thank goodness he's down graded to being a vegetarian now! xx
