Richard

Today we had a wine-tasting party with several neighbors and friends. Richard is the brother of one of our neighbors, so we see him frequently. (Indeed, Richard is more of a neighbor than many of our "neighbors.") He's celebrating a birthday this coming week, which was part of the reason or "excuse" to have our get-together and make it a wine-tasting party (as opposed to a more traditional, Memorial Day "cook-out"). Although quiet and soft-spoken, I enjoy all my conversations with Richard.

And I thank Richard for his "pose." It led me to crop the image in a way I probably could not have done a few years ago and made it, I hope, a better portrait.
