Visiting Mom

Sort of a companion post with “Visiting the kids,” http://365project.org/rhoing/365/2016-09-05

Mom began renting this condominium a year ago. Long story short, the landlady wants to sell it now and Mom is going to buy it. So now she's changing things that she wouldn't change as a renter. Clare suggested a new light fixture over the kitchen island and this is it. Installed-by-son-in-law. Fortunately, the fixture is controlled by a single switch and there were no surprises in the ceiling wiring. Photographed by just setting my camera down on the island and firing. I think it took 5 or 6 tries to get the camera placed-and-zoomed well.

Thinking back 15 years on this date, I did photograph Mom's American flag hanging outside when we took our usual afternoon walk…

Couldn't quite make this square for the challenge. Is there an "almost-square-september"?

One wonders how you got the good focus with the camera face up!

@maggiemae Auto-focus is a wonder, especially when eyesight starts to go at 40!

@houser934 Thanks! That's what attracted me to this shot.
