We leave Saturday for a week and a half. At the suggestion of my local rowing guru, I tried something I've never tried before. I took a structured workout from the indoor rower to the water: 2 minutes at 18 strokes-per-minute, then 2 minutes at 20 strokes-per-minute (at a slightly higher speed); repeat. I did that for 24 minutes and was gassed. Changing tempo and speed like that is mentally and physically challenging. A good last time on the water before our trip to Quebec Saturday!

@danette And yet you're surrounded by water! As I recall, there's a rowing center in Florida … » http://www.floridarowingcenter.com/

I hope you didn't collide with anything while counting your strokes and changing the tempo! Good idea and rowing is such a good exercise! Lovely photo of the water too!
@rhoing Water, but not many lakes. Funny...the link you sent is from a town about 45 minutes north where I just sold a house. The tuition seems reasonable for what you get. Then there is a boat and all the other added costs! Does seem so peaceful.
@maggiemae I've been rowing long enough that I have a rough sense of how many strokes per minute (spm) I'm doing. But better than that, I have a device in the boat with me that shows my speed and spm! https://365project.org/rhoing/365/2016-09-26
