Long-tailed Skipper [Filler]
I have only observed this skipper in South Carolina on visits to Hilton Head Island,
four years ago
and now.
ID’ed at BAMONA
as
Urbanus proteus
or “Long-tailed Skipper.”
Species pages: [
BAMONA
] [
BugGuide
] [
UK Butterflies
]
Interestingly (and FWIW), BAMONA and BugGuide place this skipper in the same family (Hesperiidae), but different “subfamilies.”
