“Autumn Leaves” by rhoing

“Autumn Leaves”

My parents — well, my mom — had Johnny Mathis’s album, “The Sweetheart Tree”. One of the songs is “Autumn Leaves”, hence the title and the quotation marks around the title above.

I especially liked the title track, and still do, from the film “The Great Race” (1965).

“Autumn Leaves” was “composed by Joseph Kosma in 1945 with original lyrics by Jacques Prévert in French…, and later by Johnny Mercer in English.”

One of the things that’s missing from single-sided music CDs (and listening to albums by streaming, to the extent that people even listen to entire albums anymore) is the notion of “Side 1” and “Side 2.” Side 2 of “The Sweetheart Tree” is much better than Side 1. IMHO :)
