The birthface of Qantas..

This is the hanger in which the first few planes to fly for the Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Services (Qantas) were actually built, by hand, by a few Queenslanders who didn't know the meaning of "it can't be done",,,,
Goodness me - 365 is such an informative site!!

Interesting. I have friends currently flying from U.K. to NZ on Qantas and their plane looks very different from this.

@wakelys The company has had an amazingly successful history - but Covid 19 has put it in a perilous situation. They've had to lay off huge numbers of staff and mothball a lot of their planes. It was interesting to know they are still flying some internationl flights. :)

@golftragic Hi Marnie - it's well worth a visit. Unfortunately you have to book everything in advance so we couldn't see the night-time light show. But just the museum and hangar were super interesting. Those guys who founded this were incredible! :0

@robz Thanks for the warning Rob, I'll try to remember that. GOK when we'll be allowed to get into Q'ld, let alone a holiday involving Winton and that region.
