@pcoulson Hi Peter - I was so interested to hear that you also have an IR camera. No doubt you know more about how to use it than I do! Do you find that you get blue sections sometimes? I'm pretty sure it's to do with the exposure and have been trying to control it with the Exposure compensation setting. Do you have any kind suggestions to make? Many thanks Rob.
@robz The blue hue it’s possibly down to the IR sensor fitted to your camera, mine is 680nm, giving more colour than your sooc image above I suspect yours has a 720nm IR filter fitted also I process my RAW image and convert them to monochrome, there are lots of tutorials on YouTube let me know what your sensor is and I’ll get back to you Rob:)
@pcoulson Thanks so much for your reply Peter. However, I'm afraid I have no idea what type of IR sensor mine is. I just bought the whole Nikon, a few years ago, already converted, from a gentleman in the UK. So, if the filter actually only allows IR waves to reach the receptor and thus form an image, does that mean that you think mine might only allow longer wavelengths than yours to pass through. Hence, a lot of my images would look underdeveloped unless I made allowances? And if I overcompensate then I'll get the blue? Would that all be feasible? If so at least I'll know what to try for a successful intermediate result. And, I'm afraid I can't edit in RAW - I only have a very old editing program which doesn't cope with it. Thanks so much for your reply - I really appreciate it. Cheers Rob
Ian
