That's a big seed for a little bird

The chaffinches both male and female are regular visitors to the feeder outside the kitchen window. I think they are definitely a couple! The sunflower hearts look so big for such a little bird.

I'm off to meet friends for lunch today. We all used to work in child protection when we worked for the 2 PCTs (as in was in those days) in Bedfordshire. One of our colleagues sadly died from cancer a few years ago not long after she retired. She was such a lovely lady so we all miss her as she used to meet us for lunch too. Now we are just three and although one of them has moved to the Fens we still meet up about every 6 weeks.
