This is the female blackbird searching around the lawn for worms for her babies. They have a nest in the ivy on the front of our house and it's not far from the front door. They don't seem too perturbed by us coming and going into the front garden which is good.
Every day seems the same so I really have to think "what day is it?" Of course it's Saturday but nothing that we usually do at the weekends can come about. Never mind. At least I got to chat to my brother in France when he phoned me this morning. It's so good to know that they are keeping well. He lives in a lovely little village down a lane with just a farm in front of his house. They have chickens roaming around the field at the back of the house and they are poulet de Bresse and are sold in Harrods no less. It was lovely when I went to stay with him in 2015. I was thinking it would be nice to go again but when that will happen is anyone's guess as they have had their highest day of deaths recorded over there. This virus is really terrible and I fear for my daughter who is a nurse working on the Covid ward in Bedford Hospital. I hope she keeps safe as they don't seem to have enough protective gear there.
Thanks for all your kind comments and Favs. It is always much appreciated.
Lovely capture! So sorry for your worry about your daughter! She is doing an amazing job Rosie and you must be so proud of her! I keep praying that those in the front line get the protective gear they need and deserve. Big hug xxx
Nice capture. I understand your concerns, especially for your daughter - they must be seeing the most unimaginable scenes every day. We can only cross our fingers a cure to this terrible virus will come soon. Take care
