Old Warden cottage by rosiekind

Old Warden cottage

I only worked for 2 hours today as I shall be owed such a lot of time by the end of the month. I arranged it so that I could go to a meeting in Ampthill for 11 o'clock which I knew would be over by 12 and then went to meet some friends for lunch in Flitwick which worked out well. I used to work with Debbie and Jan when we all worked in the Safeguarding Children office, Debbie worked with Looked After Children, Jan was the Designated Nurse for Safeguarding (covering the county) and I was Named Nurse for Safeguarding at Bedfordshire PCT and we all left about the same time (4 years ago). It is nice to keep in touch and remain friends. After lunch, I decided to go on a tour of the villages to see whether I could spot the waxwings that everyone on the birding site keeps telling me about but I didn't see any! So today, I decided not to post any birds so that you don't get sick of them and post other things. This is a lovely cottage situated in the village of Old Warden. I went to Shuttleworth to see whether I could see the Firecrest that's been spotted there in Swiss Gardens but it is closed for refurbishment and I don't think I would have been looking in the right place anyway!
So many of the whippet shots have been taken beyond the church at the top of this lane next to this (!) Surprised you haven't seen them up there(!) A great place to walk... just ask the whippets!

@caddick I would have walked up the lane if I had thought I might meet Tinker & Tetley. Funnily enough I did take a pic of what I think is a whippet in Ampthill Park. I will probably post one tomorrow and you can then tell me if it is indeed a whippet or possibly a greyhound. I'm never quite sure

@rosiekind A lovely spot (out of sight from the road) for a church, a walk and sandwiches!!

Very unusual thatched cottage - wonderful chimneys. It was probably once 4 tiny farm labourers cottages. Nice to see other thatches to compare. Great shot

Love this cottage. I love reading your posts. Reminds me of a good novel set in England! Very nice photo.

@netkonnexion I grew up in a thatched cottage so I think that is probably why I always like them as they remind me of happy days

@nebzphoto Thanks Nancy - this is something typically British and the village is a lovey place.

Lovely shot. Didn't you just want to knock on the door and ask them to move the car? :)
