Short break from my Rome experience.
Last Sunday I went down to ‘The Ferries’, a popular part of Sliema, to watch the final stage of the annual Malta Marathon and I took the camera because a nephew of mine was taking part in the half-marathon, that is 21Km instead of 41Km. Both the Full and the Half Marathons take part simultaneously.
Thousands of enthusiasts took part, many coming from abroad for the event. It was a hot day and that worsened the conditions for those runners who are not used to run in such weather.
I tried my hands at manual panning but didn’t have the results I expected. In fact I had to increase the motion blur in this shot to get the result I wanted.
By the way, this guy is not my nephew and I couldn’t tell in which of the two marathons he was taking part, but he was one of the first to appear from where I was.
Thank you for looking and for your kind comments and the fav's - always appreciated.
I really like this shot Dione - it gives you such a sense of action and highlights the fact that this runner does not carry an ounce of extra weight. :)
