Santa Maria Bay from near Calypso Cave which is close to my sister’s apartment in Gozo. This is a very popular bay in Summer with Maltese who come to spend a few days in Gozo and with tourists. Since my two children have come to age I have never been to sandy beaches to swim. I remember very clearly the last time I was at this beach with family when I accidently dropped my wedding ring not higher than a foot from the sand and no matter how much I searched I could not find it and had to buy a new one like the one I lost. At least Christine was not too angry at me then.
Calypso cave is alleged to be the one in The Odyssey as the cave where the nymph Calypso kept Odysseus prisoner for seven years after his ship was shipwrecked after a fierce storm. The cave is currently closed to the public for fear of collapse.
Today’s title is inspired by "On the Beach" - a hit song by Cliff Richard and the Shadows. I haven’t been a big fan of Cliff Richard but was infatuated by the Shadows and their music.
Thank you very much for all your looks, for your kind comments and for the fav's on yesterday's picture.
Fabulous narrative too, I love the song albeit sung by Chris Rea ;-)
