Apparently an old word for a group of jackdaws, and this tree is where a group roost now. There are 11 jackdaws in this shot. Sometimes this view has a brilliant sunset, but this was about all we got last night. We have jackdaws everywhere.
I did dither about putting (another) bluebell picture up from Sunday, but it was a tiny clump that had survived on a small bit of wood on a busy footpath.
Three good things:
1. Got all sorts of boring housework done;
2. My daughter is better than she has been so all enthusiastic about dressmaking, two pairs of shorts, one for me, one for her, and now a bag cut out (to test a pattern for a friend's birthday present);
3. It felt really weird, but as I walked down to the supermarket, I found a £5 note on the ground.
Thank you for looking and commenting. You're all superstars. I prefer to look at your pictures rather than spend time thanking you individually below.
Beautiful shot even if I can't see the jackdaws. Having read your narrative for the day I tempt to comment that it would be more weird if you lost the fiver than that you found one.
I'm not familiar with jackdaws but our grackles (also black but rather more sharp looking than your jackdaws) come in groups too. Sadly I don't know any specific word for a group of grackles.
