I loved the way the yellow coreopsis was framed by the blue iris. I played with DoF and finally decided I like it best with coreopsis in focus making the iris less so.
Yes I like the chosen focus in this image - it gives the image a better balance , and although the iris is so dominant -your eye is carried through to view the small and more delicate coreopsis fav
