it was a very relaxing new year's day. partner and i started off things right with the healthy breakfast. we puttered around the apartments. we called and got called by family and friends for the requisite and/or obligatory 'happy new year' greetings. we had a light lunch then he drove me to the bluffs, east of the city.
we had clear skies, bright sunshine, little wind, but before mid-afternoon, we had reached the forecasted high of -1 celcius. it was freezing cold. i wore my rubber boots, excellent for running on ice, but them being just rubber, my toes were freezing by the time i hit 200 shots. he had to crank the heating in the car to thaw me out.
and after swan shots, bird shots, boat shots, i chose to post this because it showed how beautiful it was today and how cold it was/is. it will be colder from tomorrow through the weekend.
back home, we prepared our first supper of the year.
Sounds like a perfect day ....the meals, the phone calls and the hunt for a photo. Which, by the way, turned out gorgeous. I feel "cold" just looking at it. After being raised in Minnesota, I know exactly how you felt. Excuse me while I go and crank up our heat. Brrrrr. :)
