bird

i can't be picky with birds because in the city, all we have are the pesky seagulls or the darn pigeons. so unless i get to the niagara or somewhere rural enough to have something else, this would be it.

and i'm quite happy with the sharpness here. if only we're allowed to crop i can show you i got good focus on this one. but of course this was shot yesterday, way before i smelled one lawyer's perfume that gave me severe allergies and i'm still suffering until now. today, everything i shot were epic fail; if that darn camera wasn't so expensive, i'd have thrown it in the lake.
I love your sense of humor my friend. You need to come to Edmonton to a better selection of birds just saying. Although I have not posted any because I do not have the paitence to spend time bird watching to capture those moments. Nice shot by the way

What a lovely sky.

makes me want to soar amongst those wispy clouds

An early life inland and exposure to Jonathan Livingston Seagull convinced me gulls are the most beautiful of birds and now living here where they are as thick as rats, I still love them.

That dang perfume allergy. My husband reacts like that. Can't count how many movies and concerts have been ruined for him by stinky perfume of someone in the crowd.

Fabulous minimalistic shot! Sometimes I wish for seagulls as some of the smaller birds that we have are just so difficult to get a decent shot of! :-)

@bkbinthecity - photographing birds is an exercise in patience, i tell you. haha! thank you, brian.

@denisedaly - that was before the rain clouds rolled in. and we haven't seen the sky since then. thank you, denise.

@steeler - once you get on the mother ship, you can. :-) thank you, howard.

@pandorasecho - my first experience with seagulls was when i first came to toronto. we were at the park, i was eating ice cream and two just swooped by, one nearly missed my face and the other took my ice cream. then it fell and the whole flock just assaulted the darn ice cream. not to mention that once or twice i've been pooped on the head by the nasty creatures. and they can smell your food from far away. aaargh! :-) thank you, dixie.

@salza - be careful what you wish for :-) those seagulls and pigeons are baaaaad! thank you, sally.

@eniaral - it's a challenge i got myself into for the month with beau and tanja. strictly sooc which means from camera to here except perhaps if i crop in camera which i should've done. thank you, laraine.

nice clear capture!

I like it without a crop. When viewed large it is very clear and the expanse of that wonderful sky is really nice.

love the sky and the lighting so much!!

Beautiful capture. Love the lighting, clarity and imagery. Evokes so many memories of the shore here in NJ.
You can crop in-camera? Lol I didn't know that could be done. I wonder if my camera has that option?

@losthorizon - my nikon has that feature. and this was taken with the nikon. my canon T3i doesn't have that option; if it does i can't find it in the manual.

@summerfield I'll have to check my Nikon in the morning when I get home from work. As for my Canon....um....no. It starts having seizures if I ask it to view the last photo taken. Lol.
April 23rd, 2013
@losthorizon - i don't even think canon can do a 're-size'. mine would occasionally have seizures, too! hahaha! must be a canon thing, but mine acted up since february in niagara when i was using it outside then we went inside the butterfly conservatory and both cameras fogged up so bad it took me an hour before i could take pictures with the canon. needless to say all my shots then were blurry or fogged over. since then i had a problem with canon telling me 'busy...try again later'.
