yah wanna piece of me! by summerfield

yah wanna piece of me!

it was a sight to see. the dog was curious of the swan so he walked over to the edge of the boardwalk to nose around. heck, the swan had something to say and started nagging at the dog, the dog slowly retreated but the swan kept approaching.

the dog owner was prodding the dog to go on and take a look, the dog refused several times before going back again to the edge of the board walk and the swan almost got him. the owner still insisted until i told him to not please torture his dog. i warned him that if his dog fought back and hurt the swan, guess how much fine he'd be looking at? he pulled his dog and walked away. what an a*****e!

although i must say, it was quite an amusing scene.

Glad you rescued the dog and the swan. That could have been a not too pretty sight.

This is a lovely photo. I like your story too. (Pity the swan didn't bite the owner) However, it did provide you with a great photo op. LOL

The picture tells a different story. The dog looks like he wants to say hello. How irresponsible of the owner to encourage the dog to get in closer.

Cool pic. That swan looks serious... What is with that guy, though? Some people are such idiots.

Great scene. One of those times when you know something shouldnt be happening but it is so cool you want to watch.

they swan would have won and not because the dog was on the leash. and yes, the owner was a jerk. dogs are friendly and curious to a fault and just want to make friends most of the time - you should see what big birds can do to them. the dog runs away crying. too bad the swan did not go after that owner instead - he would have stopped encouraging his dog. apparently he has never gotten chased or bitten by a goose. jerk.

Interesting story too - why would someone encourage their dog to go there???? What interests me the most is the wonderful lighting of those feathers

Wow- intense moment there! Was the owner thinking you'd want a shot of a dog fighting a swan or something? Sort of strange behavior to say the least. Good shot for you though!

@olivetreeann - no, he's just enjoying what he called was the dog's cowardly action, that despite it's size it was afraid of the swan. the dog was very docile and i suppose i knew it right away that's why i was able to get near and take a shot. but the guy's actions didn't really sit well with me that's why i had to speak up when everyone else was laughing. thank you, ann.

Good for you for telling the ignorant owner to stop being cruel. Some people should just not have pets. I like swans but they can get quite nasty when provoked. Great picture!
