we got into heavy traffic coming into the city from our drive in london to get partner's van back from his son. the reason? the CNE or the annual canadian national exhibition, a carnival-like summer tradition for toronto and nearby cities/counties.
i was taking photos of the boats at the lake through the three lane stretch of cars and this guy driving a white car right next to us at first thought i was taking his photos. when it became clear to him that i wasn't, he drove so close to the car in front of him so that he was right beside us in traffic.
"hey, why don't you take a picture of me!"
i gave him a side glance and a pissed look. his friends, all girls, one beside him in the front seat and three at the back, all laughed.
"take my picture!"
"fine!" i said. traffic in our lane moved.
when his car caught up with us, he said, "i'm famous, you know!"
i laughed.
our car moved ahead again then stalled. oh, this boy tried to catch up so desperately. i took another shot. then i told him, "i was going to make you famous, but if you say you are already, then good for you."
"i'm famous! i'm not kidding!"
"are you the guy from miami vice?"
guffaws and more laughter from his friends followed.
@jsw0109 - nope! i don't either. he's probably just kidding. i think if he's famous he'd be keeping a low profile. maybe he's famous in his mother's bingo club. haha!
He could be a soccer player- I think he looks like one at least. Well, famous or not, it seems that most people here are enjoying this view better than they would have the boats. (o;
