i was pushed by Shawna Schroeder @shawnasays to use selective colour in my shot.
for the fifth day, toronto has had a beautiful fall day, highs of early 20's and clear blue skies. walking to the subway station this morning, this father and his daughters were walking in the opposite direction but what attracted me was the girls' singing. there is nothing more calming than the laughter of a baby and the happy singing of little children. these girls were so cute, i was almost tempted to ask the father if i could take their photographs. but i didn't. so when i knew i was at a good distance, i turned back and zoomed in on them as they walked. i reckon they were going to the day care centre right beside my apartment building.
i'm most of the time quite poor at seizing opportunities. it's probably because i respect people's privacy too much, which is a good thing and it's but right. but there was also something in the girls' singing, skipping and obvious happiness that i wanted to leave it alone and just replay it in my mind. the scene went perfectly hand in hand with the bright sunshine and the beautiful morning.
thank you for taking the time to visit and comment; please know that i appreciate it.
Your comments are as good as the picture! Singing and skipping - whoever heard of that! They must have a happy family and enjoy the day care centre. The SC suits this so well as it brings the subjects forward!
This is the perfect subject for selective coloring and the result is adorable! I can hear the happy singing and see them skipping in my mind's eye. Great shot.
@myhrhelper - isn't it something? i've been paired twice with mike gifford, mary siegle and paul wright. but if that happens, be gentle, i'm nowhere as good as your calibre! thank you, KB.
When are we ever going to get paired up for the get pushed challenges???
