get pushed #71 - white on white by summerfield

get pushed #71 - white on white

my good friend sally @salza and i are reunited this week as partners for this segment of the get pushed challenge, and this is her challenge to me. i can't get rid of the shadows; if i put anymore lights to get rid of them, the photo gets washed out and turns into high key.

(partner bought the wrong vanilla ice cream!)

this is pure sooc.
Wow!! Would have never thought that white and white would look so well. Lovely composition my friend and I hope you are feeling better.

@salsa - partner got the wrong vanilla ice cream so i'm back with the soup tureen! what do you think of this one?
November 28th, 2013
Well done

I like this. I'm sorry to be the cause of so much frustration! I hope the ice cream is at least tasty and that you've enjoyed a serving!
November 28th, 2013
oh yeah now I want vanilla ice cream. Nice
November 28th, 2013
@bkbinthecity - thank you, brian.

@salza - no, you're not the cause of my frustrations. and i didn't eat any ice cream. i don't like vanilla. ick! :-) thank you, sally.

@pandorasecho - i wish i could send it to you, it's the better vanilla ice cream so you would love it! thank you, dixie.

I think you have to look at the positives. (you know that though)
Thumbnail to thumbnail it looks it looks so much better, I guess it is just a case of keep trying but it would frustrate the hell out of me:0)

It is amazing how many shades of white there are. I absolutely love the simplicity of this shot and have to fav it!
November 28th, 2013
Wow, it looks great, really nice and white! Nice one!
November 28th, 2013
This is much whiter than the last attempt. Did he buy yellow vanilla ice-cream?
November 28th, 2013
@dh - yes, french vanilla it's called.
November 28th, 2013
@claireuk - i'm looking at it from the office monitor (which normally turns everything darker) and i'm quite pleased with the white contrasts. if i have to re-do this i'd try to not have the shadow on the left handle. but i'm happy with it. thank you, my friend claire.

@silverlight - thank you, cheryl and for the generous fav, too.

@678tabby - thank you, june.

@dh - thank you, dh.

@salza - methinks i'll do a red on red next. i have a nice red velvet backdrop. i just have to find something red to photograph. :-)
November 28th, 2013
I think you do fine on your own, without being pushed. This is a simple and good shot
November 28th, 2013
@sarasdadandmom - aw, terry, that's very sweet of you. thank you.
November 28th, 2013
I'm looking at these backwards but in the thumbnail this definitely looks more white on white. I wouldn't worry about the ice cream- I think the glossy ceramic works better. Good job. It'll be interesting to see what you do with red on red.

@olivetreeann - thank you, ann. i think it depends on the monitor. at the office this looks really white, not washed out white, but white and it was quite pretty. well, partner keeps buying the wrong ice cream so i just might forget that. i yet have to find something red here at home nor in the office.
November 29th, 2013
@summerfield Red shoes perhaps?
November 29th, 2013
wow! i think you pulled it off really well! and very impressive that you achieved this in camera!
November 30th, 2013
@olivetreeann - of course! gotta find them!
November 30th, 2013
very elegant in its simplicity!
