in the aftermath of the big ice storm that battered toronto on the weekend before Christmas, so many trees were damaged, their branches unable to keep the weight of the ice that had formed on themselves. the icy results stayed for the most part of the week and had just now melted. in the midst of the devastation, the sun came out and shone on the icy branches, revealing the other side of that cruel devastation: beauty in the midst of chaos - the ice sparkled like diamonds when hit by the bright sunshine.
