the last time i wore red lipstick was almost thirty years ago, when i was half my age and half my weight now. but i remember in the 70's when mary quant was the rage in manila, my then best friend jeanna and i were the first to wear really red lipstick to the office. it was a time when red lipstick was worn mostly by the older women, movie stars and get this, prostitutes. tee-hee! mary quant cosmetics changed that.
when i was in manila this year, i noted that all the girls working in department stores and shops wore red lipstick and very thick make up. i hate the thought of wearing thick make-up in thirty-five degrees weather. heck i hate the thought of wearing make-up at any time and in any weather! these days, lipstick is replaced by chapstick and the only thing i haven't changed is my eye make-up which i didn't have on today hence the shades.

You have wonderful looking skin! Red lipstick rocks. I rarely wear makeup these days but if I have to, tinted mosituriser, mascara, occasional eye colour but red lips:0)

I noticed in your first post of the New Year that your expressed an interest in finally buckling down and learning more about Photoshop Elements. So, now that you are back home from your travels, it seems like the right time to start! So, my challenge to you this week is to make a composite image, where you combine elements from two or more photographs to make one final image. (Let me know if that sounds like too much, and I will scale back the difficulty.)
You are gorgeous, Vicki! Just gorgeous. What is your secret? I don't wear makeup most days anymore..I have this eyelid condition, blepharitis, that causes my eyes to be really dry, sticky, irritated,and prone to serious infection. So no more makeup except on a special occasion. I think I might even look worse WITH makeup now. haha
Doin' your Jackie O thing with those shades! Vikki you look great no matter what color is on your lips. I never wore lipstick. I did wear lip tints when I sold Avon, but most of the time it's been Chapstick for me. As for make-up, I never really had the patience for it, but again, when I was selling Avon, I sort of felt I should use the product I was selling! After a while I found that my eye lids were reacting to the eye shadow so I had stop using that. But I still use a light foundation and blush when I go out- confidence booster I suppose.
@claireuk - tinted moisturizer, i'd need some of that. i blistered my cheeks from too much sun while on vacation so to even up my skin tone, i was given a 'peeling'. whoa! did it hurt! still does. so my skin now is so thin and pale. and i would now need to put on sunblock forever, it sucks! so love me back, please. :-) thank you, my friend claire.

@olivetreeann - i think that's why i was never into selling avon when i was young and had the opportunity. i just hate wearing makeup. even eyeliners i can't do anymore, but i need a bit of eyeshadow because i have asian eyes and eyeshadows make the eyes look bigger. ah, the folly of women! thank you, ann,

@summerfield Goodness you would never guess the word I wanted to use was complexion but I couldn't spell it at the time, (I hate that, using the wrong word, not knowing how to spell the simplest of words sometimes, scary)
I think you have a beautiful complexion, that peel sure does sound painful. The tinted moisturiser I use is spf15 which for UK is fine. Although even in our summers it has to a spf30. I had sunstroke aged 15 over a huge % of my body and as a result I burn very easy. Sending a hug:0)

and I remember those times .. as teenagers we rebelled by wearing palest of brightest pinks ,
.. and now I've drifted back to reds when I put ay on.
