i promise this is the last of my rusty 'stop the car!!' photos. a close up of the wall with the iron sign "visitor parking". the one thing mysterious about this 'abandoned' structure is that all windows were boarded up. the large rolling doors were rife with cobwebs that suggested they had not been opened for months, probably years. it is certainly a weathered and rusted building. what added interest is that at the left end of this structure there was a narrow annex, its side windows also boarded up. however the second floor window in front which wasn't boarded up, there was a light bulb that was left on.
that gave me the thinking that the drums were removed between sunday morning and tuesday morning after i took the photos, as they weren't there anymore on tuesday evening when we went back. they probably thought the drums called too much attention for them to be photographed so diligently as i did.
anyway, i have told partner that we're going around the area once again, this time i will be bringing our tall step ladder so i can take photos of anything i fancy from a little bit higher than five feet.
great abandonment picture.
Good luck with the ladders, I think my beloved who is very used to my "stop the car" moments would draw the line at holding the steps for me!
@barneyone - actually it was partner himself who had suggested it quite a few times and tomorrow, i'm taking him up on that. you won't believe it but he moves large garbage bins and one time even moved a picnic table so i could stand on it to get the perspective we wanted. :-) we're both crazy in different ways. thank you, rita.
@salza - not so much dedicated as pissed that i miss a lot because I'm vertically challenged! :-) thank you, sally.
