toronto has a castle in its midtown area. casa loma, a gothic revival style house was built between 1911 and 1914. it is now a museum and one of toronto's important landmarks. it boasts of a large garden with varied floral species and a huge fountain in its midst. it used to have an oven large enough to cook an ox. if you wish to read more on the history of this castle, here's a link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casa_Loma
on a holiday morning, the grounds of the castle was surprisingly deserted, save for a small group of korean tourists, and a photographer who was staking the joint for his impending wedding gig this weekend. i told him the rose garden at the back is the most beautiful part of the grounds.
after taking a few shots with my little crystal ball, a group of old ladies arrived and got curious with the ball. as it was clouding over and rain heavy in the air, partner and i decided to go back to the car. as soon as he started the engine, rain came down like it was being poured form a large bucket.
