evening at the beaches

i saw earlier that there is a five for five theme initiated by beau @losthorizon (see discussion here: http://365project.org/discuss/themes-competitions/23230/5-for-5-theme) so since i'm at a loss as to what to post tonight, i thought i'd put in one for the theme.

i went to the beaches after work with the intention of shooting selfies for the five plus two's water theme. but the darn seagulls pissed me off big time. would you believe they tried to snatch my shells a number of times! i actually managed to kick one and boy! do they whine like heck! it was cloudy but there was a new half-moon on show and i managed a couple of sunset shots.

@northy - i was thinking of you when i was there tonight. i was going to go in the water but i didn't bring an extra pair of shoes. and sky was not so apt for photo, there was even hardly any ripple in the water. want to hit the beach on saturday night for photos? :-)

@summerfield I know they can be mean, but I still like them! But they are very threatening sometimes!

@678tabby - one also swooped down to take my sunglasses that i placed on top of my backpack and another pecked at something hanging out of one of the open pockets. i've also seen them in the past attack a small boy, about three years old holding a few pieces of fries and about ten of them just swarmed on him. poor little fellow was saying before that "nice birdies", after he was attacked, he was yelling "bad birdies, i hate birdies!" they are pretty bad here!

They can be pretty aggressive scavengers! I guess they thought there was something to eat in the shells but I can't figure out what would attract them to a pair of sunglasses! Nice collage.
