i have an obsession for stairwells like this. there are a few around the downtown core but this one was about four city blocks from the financial district. it is a building housing some nouveaux artes advertising companies. i had captured one with a person going up but the bloody tripod decided to screw up (or make that unscrew down) and the camera ended up facing the ground. i would've waited a few more minutes but my hiney was freezing and the streetcars and buses decided to make a convoy in front of me. i shall definitely go back there. i actually found this for @northy. she'll give justice to this structure i'm pretty sure.
thank you for your kind visits and comments; know that they are truly appreciated.
interesting- i was looking at the shot, thinking it would look better with a person in it, then read your narrative and laughed. you always make me laugh - thank you. wonderful capture, as usual, Vikki.
Interesting to put the stairs in this piece of architecture and not the lift! Good shot to get the lighting right. It would be great with a person but most people would take the lift!
I like stairwells like this, too! They look amazing all lit up like huge light fixtures or beacons in the city. Wonderful capture.....yes, it probably would have looked even better with a person ascending or descending the staircase.
