i thought i'd walk down by the lake to exorcise this melancholia and peut-être find some inspiration, too. it was windy and misty and just generally cold, but it was good for the psyche. i had stories formed in my mind and now the problem is to write them all and not forget one bit. there were two board surfers who were just leaving when i arrived and they were both cursing the cold. well, duh! you're in winterland, people! go surf somewhere warm, like lake michigan!
then the waves washed up this bottle. it has a small rolled up paper inside it. a message perhaps? but wait, there's something else in there - a gold heart pendant! so i picked it up in a hurry as there was a jogger coming towards me. i brought it home to see what it was all about!

this is for the five plus two's "intriguing" theme this week. i don't know how else i can photograph an intriguing selfie so here's a lame attempt.
also @kathyboyles is my partner this week for the get pushed challenge and this was her push: "I...would like to take you outside your style with my challenge to you. I would like you you write a six word story with an accompanying image about one of your feelings." i am intrigued. and cold. and miserable. i think that this fits the bill, don't you think so?

might you, kind folks, dare to make your vote for the theme-red? three of my friends are in the finals so i'm abstaining from voting because i can't choose! here's the link: http://365project.org/blog/weekly-theme-decor
you would need to scroll down a bit to see the finalists and then scroll down some more to get your votes in on the comment box. as usual, not asking you to vote for anyone in particular, but vote for your choice, the one you'd like to win.
thank you for your kind visits and comments; know that they are greatly appreciated.
An intriguing picture and story. I'm also impressed that you didn't wreck your manicure reaching for the bottle. I'm concerned that the message has not reached its intended recipient. Or perhaps it was meant for you and that is why you didn't share the contents. Hmmm...perhaps I'll continue the story for you...
Now I am intrigued! I love the fact that things like this happen - amongst of getting up, going to work, cooking dinners, brushing teeth.... something like finding a bottle with a message and a heart pendant has its place. Wonderful. Intriguing and lovely picture - I also like the processing that washes away the border between real and dreamt of.
intrigued, cold and miserable. Fits the bill. Interesting challenge and such a story. I rather be reading it than living it. In addition to cold misery, I'm feeling a strong sense of danger with that bottle.
Love this image and your story! Big fav. I'm your get pushed partner this week and I'm running behind on just about everything in life right now! Will look through your album a bit and get back to you with a challenge very soon.
I'm back! Thanks for the two options. I have an idea for option 2 nut option 1 is really intriguing. Think I'll let my husband tell me about my inner beast. It will be therapeutic! For your challenge, since I've admired your creative selfies, how about this? Take a closeup/macro or abstract of yourself wearing some kind of holiday attire or jewelry - I'm thinking of a detail shot that shows the holiday item and that you're wearing it. Ok, too wordy, so it must not be clear! Let me know.
@moniquenadeau - go ahead, friendship. i'd like to know where it ends or goes. maybe it was a message from the ex-man asking me to return the bottle. hahahaha!
I like the kitesurfer in the far left....nice detail.....makes me think that he might have been the one that dropped the bottle, and is now flying away!
