hawkers and peddlers

people milling about, waiting for tourists to sell their island hopping tours, scuba dive, snorkeling, land tours, paragliding, sailing, and boat tours. they swarm at you and the winner gets picked quickly by the glib sales talk one employs. be very careful, the prices may be cheap but once you're signed up, the waiver fees, insurance fees, entrance fees, boat fees, and of course, the obligatory gratuities for the boatman, the guide, etc. etc. the two old ladies, that's my bff and me, are seasoned travellers - we know how to haggle and we ask the right questions. but i am a generous tipper and word gets around and they remember your face. but in general the foreigners are their main target. around here, i am presumed to be a 'local'.

thank you for your kind visits and comments; know that they are greatly appreciated.
A fascinating "street" scene! Beautiful contrasts for the flash of red challenge!

Lovely candid capture. So sad that there are tourist traps for one to fall into, but it is something that happens everywhere no matter where you go!

Ohh. You should ask for a Pinoy price. Haha, that's the one thing I learned in Boracay.
