graydon hall manor

i can't believe that today is my 9th day here in the new apartment and this is the first time i noticed this structure across from the building, and which is visible from my balcony, and my bedroom window. guess i've been so absorbed at looking at the water in the distance and waiting to see the sunrise or the moonrise, i never paid attention to what was below me.

this is the graydon hall manor, a 29-room Georgian house and originally conceived as a sportsman's paradise and built in 1936. these days it is a "distinguished historic boutique conference and reception facility, established to produce sophisticated events with an uncompromising attention to detail", according to its website.
Lovely view

Beautiful manor and a pretty shot of it. How lucky to be able to see it from your bedroom balcony.

You have an awesome view from your new digs! So quiet and pastoral compared to the busy view of the 401 you had before.
Hope you are getting settled in and the internet is up and running.

Not your average country cottage! Impressive looking place. Would be interesting to see the interior.

Wow- what a pretty view to have from an apartment building in the city. I bet you'll see some pretty brides in that courtyard.

@summerfield If it looks interesting, pull out the zoom! haha I think the Powershot zoom could probably handle it. I was thinking I should try to get there when Maggie is around- we are VERY distantly related! I forget when she said she was going to be in your neck of the woods. I might be able to work something out. We are heading up there for a quick visit at the end of the month- Lucy is turning 5 (I'm not sure how that happened so quickly!) and we'll be going down to Kt. for my birthday at the end of May. Did you have something specific in mind?
