the last box

sylvia @sdutoit my get pushed partner this week asked me "How about a photo of unpacking the last box and which shows the relieve it is done!"

i've sorted out all my books and put them all in the shelves. in the end, i have 4 full boxes that will be sent to manila to my high school alma mater and to a public library in manila. it breaks my heart to part with my books, but the school asked for those encyclopedia/reference type books for its library - they wanted the students to still use actual books and not just dependent on computers. the public library is actually someone's neighbourhood project - his family used to be one of the more affluent ones in his area and he was brought up reading a lot of books. so he let the neighbouring children to come to his house and read books or to borrow them. he said that a book in a shelf is a useless book. this will be the third time that i will be sending him some of my books.

it took me four weekends to sort them out. i didn't want to part with those that i knew are out of print or not available online. some of them i've owned from way back and actually hauled them with me when i lived in europe and in the middle east.

i discovered a book on photoshop but i'm missing my michael freeman book. i also discovered i have three copies of "to kill a mockingbird" in different editions and i even have it on my tablet, so the paper ones went into the boxes.

now to put together my tax papers. good heavens! it never ends!

UPDATE: new technique challenge, kind folks. want to give it a try? http://365project.org/discuss/themes-competitions/29559/technique-challenge-70-shallow-dof

Oh Vikki, and fascinating as it was to read every word, it was your conclusion that really struck a chord! "It never ends!" I'm pleased for you that you're nearly settled...well done! We've been in this house for over 40 years, and I think I'm still not settled! Try to organize a few little things, and it opens a can of worms...things that get left without a place to go, and the cycle goes on and on!

Congrats on getting unpacked and major props for donating "real" books to the kids. A worthy sacrifice!

Hi, Vikki! We are get pushed partners this week. Been ccratching my head for a challenge to give you... How about this -- take the word pushed and interpret that or any of the synonyms of push and/or pushed found here: http://www.thesaurus.com/browse/pushed
Let me know if that doesn'tsuit. I look forward to seeing what challenge you come up with for me.

PS congrats on having your books all unpacked and sorted. We just recently got the last box of books out of the garage that we packed up 3 years ago when we had our house added onto and renovated. They're still not all on shelves. Sheesh! I need you to come down to Kansas and get us organized.

Clever concept and fabulous execution. I think Sylvia should be well pleased with this. The composition tells the story beautifully
