another shot from the caribbean carnival launch last tuesday. i saw this young girl as she approached one of the costumed girls. and i actually made the tactless faux pas of asking for her photo instead of her friend who was all feathered and dolled up. i was so taken by her elegance and simple beauty and that warm friendly smile, which of course i didn't do justice with that horrible sunlight. but the shaded part of the square was quite far and i didn't want to drag her too far away from her friend and run the risk of her rejecting my request. so one had to make the most of whatever is at hand. i did get a photo of her and her friend afterwards.
@30pics4jackiesdiamond - quite a few times. most of the time, i would look at a person's eyes and i would know right away if i will be rejected or not. in events like this, it would be foolish to say no, because i can always stand back and discreetly shoot. but my problem is if and when they agree, i get rattled because i forget my settings. :-P
