week 30 of the damned 52 portraits of me project. this time the prompt is "the 80's".
i couldn't think of anything clever for this theme. the 80's was the decade of big hairs, weird make up and shoulder pads and i'm not inclined to don anything of the sort just now. although i did love my shoulder pads and wore them until i came to my senses in the mid-90's. i still keep a pair with me but no, not wearing it. as for the make up, i tell you old women, with hooded lids, should never wear the 80's style of make up - all those turquoise and aqua and blue shades, that's a no-no. even back then, the most blue that i used on my eyes was dark blue bordering on black; i also had a brief affair with bottle-green and deep blue and neon purple mascara. very brief.
fashion? i would admit to you that i did own a pair of cropped harem pants but after the first mr. summerfield died, the next mr. summerfield thought the harem pants should also have gone the way of the first mr. summerfield. mostly i stuck to the basic a-line or pencil skirts, tailored jackets and dress shirts. but at the beach or pool, i owned quite a few french cut bikini and swimsuits.
so my offering for this segment/prompt is a photo of myself, from 1981, which is a genuine self-portrait mind, as i took this with my konica instamatic using the self-timer. back in the old country we were required to submit a photo when submitting a resumé and that's the reason for this photo.
