by now, you must have discerned that my rainbow colours are edible - at least for this week. so continuing on, here are blue smarties. i did have fun at the dollar store hunting all the m&m's and smarties. that's because i read that the regular packs of m&m's contain 20% blue. well, i bought 5 little packs of m&m's and the first pack contained only one blue but it did improve from the second pack on to the last.
there was just one problem. the m&m blues were not as photogenic as the smarties blues and the blue was not the blue i was looking for as it was rather more of the dark teal colour. it was a good thing that whilst waiting in line at the cash, i saw a big pouch of smarties for $2 so for once thankful of the smart merchandising display of big corporate stores, i grabbed a pouch of the smarties and le voilà! i have the edible blue!
you ask what happened to the blue m&m's? i ate them of course. and then i felt guilty as i just spent three hours this afternoon on the dentist's chair! but what's done is done, n'est-ce pas?
you must pardon me, but i am just slowly crawling along towards your albums. but i'll get there, you know that, don't you?
A perfect reason to buy a bumper bag of smarties! I contemplated a similar theme and bought some smartie type sweets only to discover that they only had five colours in the bag - no blue or red ones. Oh well they were quite tasty so they didn't go to waste!
Good luck finding blue food, I am really struggling as I am photographing fruit and vegetables. I bought blue potatoes and last time I bought them they were blue inside, I just cut them open and they were white!
Bulk Barn is the best place to get specific colours in edible. Especially the one in Guelph. She has no problem with you selecting the colours you want :) Nice rainbow! Oh did you get the message from Cathy @cathrinemitch about next Thursday?
Nice composition. You are right about m&m's. They do usually have pastel colors, and some blues, in their Easter offerings. Blue food and even flowers are not easy to find. I like this one. I hope you enjoyed the Smarties without guilt. After all, how could it hurt after all the m&m's. Smile.

you matched the bowl and smarties colours perfectly. They look made for each other. I thought blue smarties were gone - perhaps in the UK they are. Blue food is a tricky one to find.
