toronto's skyline redux

this week's technical challenge for the 52-week challenge is 'starburst'.

again, taken from my living room window. i meant to walk over to the bridge and shoot the main highway but there's a strong wind and my tripod's one leg is a little loose so i doubt i'd get a good result for starburst.

although i have done this starburst thing a number of times already, still i consulted the worldwide web for information on how to correctly shoot to produce starburst. well, there were quite a few and none of the suggested settings came out as i wanted. so back to what i know and what i've already done: a long exposure setting and le voilà! sometimes you just have to trust yourself with what you already know. although i am first to admit that there's still so much i need to know (which i don't know yet) about photography, there are some techniques that i've done that actually work for me.
This has created a wonderful atmosphere! Dark night and lights but not much traffic. I can see one stream.

Great capture and yes our own ideas are usually the best in many things, photography included.

This one seems to work. Nice starbursts in the lights and a beautiful night scene of Toronto

Wonderful starbursts in this night shot.
I enjoyed this week - there are so many ways to do a starburst and I learned that you can actually overdo it.
Yours is so perfect with the subtle stars of light but mine was too bold and overwhelmed the shot. Must go back and redo mine.

Nicely done Vikki- it's like the city has been sprinkled with jewels.
