i was going to do an album cover but i'm too lazy to go through my photos. i went through the list of challenges and deemed the tag challenge, which is to end tomorrow, to be more to my liking, especially that in one go, i ended up with metal and leaf. and i just happen to have in possession this little flimsy metallic leaf, kicking around in the backroom.
i had learned that a friend had been diagnosed with MS. apparently she had vertigo and was hospitalized and from there they learned of the diagnosis. now, hearing this, i had to go to the MS canadian website to see what the symptoms are and i am amazed that i have all the symptoms. an interesting fact: one in 385 canadians has MS and canada has the highest rates of MS in the world. the question is: do i want or do i not want to know?
Go!! Go!!! Go. A friend has MS, very debilitated a couple of Christmases ago whilst waiting for diagnosis, been on treatment and is now doing ok. Canada probably has highest population of MS because they screen and diagnose effectively.
You also know the old adage, don't use DrGoogle, she's never sympathetic. But do go Vikki, please, put your mind at rest and you'll be supportive to your friend.
I like the contrasts between the green leaves and the metallic one.
Well, about your symptoms...there are many reasons one can have vertigo. Some are minor and very treatable. Would you want to miss those in hopes not to find out you have MS. I mean, what are the odds? Perhaps you do. There are some treatments available for dealing with the symptoms.
At first glance I thought OMG look at that leaf not realizing it was metal. You did an excellent job with the photo. I thought you'd been to see a dr. about the vertigo ? I must have been mistaken.
Fabulous job meeting the tag challenge! Great shot!
So sorry to hear about your friend. And do get checked. I have several friends with MS and the ones who got checked without delay received treatment faster and are having a much better quality of life than those who put it off. Good luck!
You did a great job in finding "live" leaves that are very similar to your metallic one. I really like the bold contrasts of green and silver. As for the MS- I had a very dear friend with it in the late 80's early 90's. When I first met her she was walking with a cane but as the years went by and her muscles got weaker she eventually graduated to one of those scooters. Watching the "progress" of the disease was at times hard to notice but as it got worse the muscle control (or lack thereof) was easy to see. Judging from the activities I hear you talk about, I'd be surprised that you had it, but I'm no expert and only knowing one person with it does not mean I even know one iota's worth of what a Dr. would know. If there is a connection to vertigo, then I'd get it checked just for the peace of mind. It's really easy to let what you read about something scare you as to what might be- it's much better knowing for certain- even if the outcome is less than desirable. Once you know, you can figure out the next step.
Excellent response to this challenge - you pulled some tough tags and I am very impressed at how you cleverly combined them!
Well done!
BTW - I do hope you go to the doctor and get things checked out. The peace of mind will be worth it!
That is a worry to read. Yes surely you need to know - unless you are the sort of person who can put it right out of your mind. My best friend has MS, and a few others I have known besides. It can be managed for many. I do hope very much that you are ok and I am sorry for your friend. BTW what a great metal leaf you have. You matched it well enough to the real ones to have me momentarily perplexed.

An amazing photo and how serendipitous to get those tags!
