when we went out of the cinema tonight, it was starting to snow, enough to make the streets shiny wet and a tad slippery. this vantage point is from the road in front of the st. lawrence market. i wonder what the driver of that car was thinking as he approached me standing in the middle of the street. the view is much better in person, but i do love those snowflake lights lining the street.
if you grew up in canada, chances are you've played hockey on the sreets, and so you would know the expression "car!" which is a kind of warning for you guys to move aside and let a passing car through. and that's just what i was thinking as i took this photograph. the two tall buildings are the towers across from our office building and of course, the coloured tower is the CN tower.
Vikki, I thank you again for making Toronto visit so great. Also thanks for comments, tips, advice and Aces!!! Have s good Christmas love from Dave and me!! X
A Merry Christmas to you, m'friend! Looks a bit cooler than my view to the warm sunset here on the West coast, but Santa knows where to find us all! I hope you'll be enjoying the day with family and those close to you! Enjoy the snowflakes!
I think that "car!" warning is pretty much universal. While we didn't play hockey in the street, we did have our street games and had to watch out for the cars just the same. I like the snowflake lights- actually all the holiday lights here. Good shot!
I'm so glad you like the book too. I kept thinking it was rather presumptuous of me to send out books of my photography and writing! Who am I?? Certainly not of any one of the "Artist Challenge" artists caliber! haha
A great night shot of Toronto. spotted the CN tower.
Thank you so much for dropping in and liking our Christmas tree.
Your welcome anytime to drop by if you're closer to this area.
Wishing you and yours a wonderful Christmas and the Best for the Yew Year.
A beautiful capture of the fake snow flakes with the buildings in the background! I agree with @olivetreeann about the universality of that warning. I know we used to do it as kids when we were playing in the streets too. It wasn’t hockey though.
