today, i had an appointment to see my doctor. i arrived early so i thought i'd go around and scout the shops. a lot of shops had closed and been replaced either by vape stores or pot stores, game shops or phone providers. won't people be eating anymore? or need clothes? it is rather alarming that those stores have long line ups.

on the upside, i discovered a "gourmet" shop next door to my doctor's building. for decades the place was an italian fine dining, then it closed and became a game shop and during the height of the pandemic last year, the game shop closed and the catering/gourmet shop took over. i bought my sister a chicken pot pie that was quite weighty and she said it was super delicious, no salt and gluten free, and lots of chicken pieces. i got myself a date square which was huge for $3 and something called 'energy ball' (as opposed to energy bar). i sure will go back to that store when i go in three weeks' time for my ultrasound.
Nice textures. Pot is still illegal here so no pot store. Instead we seem to have a plethora of nail salons popping up. I hope the ultrasound isn't for anything serious.

I thought pot was supposed to make you hungry. It seems that that would make a need for food stores, or restaurants! Either way this is a fabulous diagonal half-and-half photo I love the lines in the patterns
