as much as i don't want to think about Christmas yet, it's just everywhere! the decorations in shops and malls, the music in people's cars and piped in music in malls, and of course, the human traffic.
when we were little children back in the old country, my mother would scoff at neighbours who would put up their Christmas decorations as soon as the "ber" months hit. she only started to think about the holidays in the middle of december when midnight mass would start. of course the only thing i cared about Christmas was visiting my aunts who would feed me all the food i only get to eat during Christmas. one particular aunt would have her large dinner table filled with all kinds of meat dishes and all sorts of dessert. one would always find me underneath the table stuffing myself together with a cousin. we would only come out when we hear auntie jingling her coin purse, it meant two pesos for each child and i wouldn't miss that for the world.
this is for this week's 52 captures challenge; the fare is "colourful". i think this is colourful enough for the challenge.
belatedly, playing a bit with the december words. since there are two boxes in the photo, for the prompt 'boxes'; also for the prompt 'twinkle'.
Nice shot!
I can say that seeing around here all the preparations for C, i have already had a bit too much of it. π And only 5 days of December have passed πππ
I am determined to avoid the subject.
Decorations don't go up until the week before Christmas, and stay until 12th night( well tree does!).
This is a beautifully composed scene, however I see no tinsel here for the mundane challengeπ ???
I don't mind thinking about it now we are in December. Got to have something to look forward to, things have been so dark and ugly for so long. Nice festive image
Quality Xmas wrapping! and light location...fav
