fairy light against the bokeh from the light curtain. i'm seriously running out of ideas to shoot.
we will have a gathering at my niece's on Christmas day, it also being her birthday. i'll be bringing a to-die-for smoked salmon that i discovered at the market today. i had to put it in the freezer or i'd finish it all with my green salad. it almost is a stand-in for bacon. yes, a bit more salty but the slices are almost paper thin and doesn't have much of the fishy taste or smell. i'll have capers and will pair it with the 2018 alsace gewurztraminer i have in my cupboard. her boys who love sushi would probably love the smoked salmon, too.
since i have put in entries for a couple of challenges, might as well tag this for the macro challenge, even though i'm just playing to support the challenges.
JUST PLAYING.

the air feels festive as we get nearer to Christmas day, even though we have so many restrictions because of the virus. and 'festive' is the theme this week at five plus two so we invite you to take a self portrait as you celebrate this week. check us out: https://365project.org/fiveplustwo/365/2021-12-22
This is almost scary - like a short in the wire. The bad thing about fairy lights I've found is that it's very easy to overexpose them. They do shine brightly compared to other lights.
Smoked salmon you say. I say, "me, me, me, me." Also like smoked trout which is sometimes available in the mountains here, dependent on the restaurant.
Love the bokeh! But for a moment I thought you had the start of a fire here...
Many mosques are new. In our time here (only 2.5 years) I have seen at least 6 being built...
Nice effect, love the bokeh. After months and months without Covid, we've just had an unvaccinated backpacker fly in in from Queensland with it. He's been wandering around the city days and even though he wasn't feeling well on Sunday, he didn't bother to get tested until Wednesday. We're back to mask wearing at indoor public places and people who have been deemed to have been in close contact with him now have to isolate, so there goes their Christmas! Now we wait to see how many people have been infected.
@merrelyn - oh my lord! see, it takes only one to spoil it for everybody. i hope you and graham are safe. we here in toronto are still wearing masks in indoor public places and with the rapid rise in that omicron variant, some restrictions were reinstated and if the Christmas weekend proves to be real bad, we may go on a partial, if not total, lockdown yet again. stay safe, my friend.

Smoked salmon could never take the place of bacon but it does sound good!
