"I need to laugh and when the sun is out
I've got something I can laugh about;
I feel good in a special way
I'm in love and it's a sunny day.
Good day sunshine!
Good day sunshine!
Good day sunshine!"
(McCartney with Lennon, from the album "Revolver", 1966)
This McCartney song was praised by critics as a song that "radiates optimism and good vibes", "superbly sung by McCartney" and "displays The Beatles at their effortless best."
It has been played as the wake-up music on multiple Space Shuttle missions. McCartney played the song live to the crew of the International Space Station on 13 November 2005 in the first-ever concert link-up to the space station. The song is also played at Safeco Field, home of Major League Baseball's Seattle Mariners, when the retractable roof is retracted.

wild card day again today as there is no song by the beatles that starts with the letter "u". (at least none that i know of. heck, i should check!)
this is a feel good song, typical of mccartney's bouncy and lively compositions. i took this picture a few days ago when i actually was motivated to get up early and hauled myself to the beaches to get a sunrise pic, but it was too late when i got there. this was taken outside my apartment looking east-southeast. and there were birds in the sky, if you notice.
i sometimes sing this song when i'm happy. what makes me happy? simple things - bright sunshine, quiet surroundings, good music, money in my pocket, good food and no one to bug me and tell me "you're always on your computer!"
A really beautiful picture, Summerfield! Love the color, the headlights in the darkness, the fabulous sky. I love foggy days, misty rain, long walks, and great, simple food. I know . . I'm strange. lol
LOVE the wonderful intense sky in this -- and so perfect for this happy song! (Yep, there is goes in my head -- love it!) What makes me happy? making beautiful things (like getting my garage and porches painted and looking so pretty again), sunny days, sleeping late, reconnecting with friends from years past (has happened repeatedly this past year), people who make me laugh, all the wonderful encouraging comments I get on my photos, having met YOU!!!!!!
yay! i'm on your list! awww, that is so sweet of you, CS. i'm pretty sure when we do get to meet in person, we'd be chatting away like we were old friends. i feel so at home with you, that's for sure. thank you, my friend.
fabulous urban sunset to go with a very nice McCartney song; as I have already said, I don't really like 'bouncy'...so I like the positive vibes of your picture more than the track :-)
Wow you are so full of factual knowledge, mighty impressive! Love the red sky, birds and streetlights. What makes me happy? Friends, family, food shared, my little man giggling and sunshine when I feel blue!
I like the street lights and birds sharing the sunrise. Having lots of computer time, taking great photos and having others like them, being on the water, talking to my son makes me happy.
@altadc - thank you, alta. i'm always taking pictures of my street and while the photos taken at dusk had been epic failures, i was amazed that this early morning shot turned out well.
@steeler - thank you, howard. glad you like all songs so far. :-)
@patticake - thank you, patti. it was taken at sunrise, though i know it could be easily taken for a sunset. would've wanted this shot by the waters, but by the time i got there, the sun was well high up in the sky.
@danig - thank you, DG. and thanks to wikipedia and the tons of books i have on the beatles, as those are my resources. funny thing: i read on the songs extensively from the books, then i go to wikipedia to get a short summary of what i had read.
love your photo and your thoughts. what makes me happy? my life - just getting up every morning and seeing malcolm's face, knowing that the phone will ring because josh calls to see how i am, watching the dogs wrestle, hearing the door open and little feet running before i hear "Grammy!', reading a book with 4 cats pushing for a place on my lap. . .life is good. hope you have a wonderful day to go with your beautiful photo.
@catsmeowb - when we experience the harshness of life, we learn to appreciate the most simple but joyful thing. or i suppose that goes with age, too. i am happy for you and glad i found you, along with my other 365 circle of friends.
@karenann - thank you, karenann. i love misty rain, too, provided i'm not going to work :-)
