last night i passed by a fruit store and saw this particular bunch of flowers and i thought it was fitting to give to partner because he drove me and my friend up to the writing sanctuary and he waited around the area, scouting for places for photo opp. all day, yes, from the time he dropped us off until five when he picked us up to drive back to toronto.
so i thought it would be a nice gesture to bring him some flowers and kill two birds with one stone as it is father's day today.
hope all you dads are having a good time with your loved ones. and don't forget that just because it is father's day doesn't mean you're just going to sit pretty - you still have to do the barbeque, you know!
happy father's day to all my 365 friends who are fathers.
quick, frame your photo, hang it on your wall and then you will have it forever. what a stunning shot. fav, Vikki - i love this. and what sweet words you had to say about partner. aaawwww. we are both such lucky women. isn't the world a wonderful place?
@catsmeowb - he also bought 3 delphinium plants and he had planted them this morning in front of my living room window. he's off watching the baseball game with my niece this afternoon and it gave me the chance to get him a 'crème brûlée' from the patisserie next door as a surprise treat for after dinner. i tell you the man is spoiled. hahaha! thank you for your comment and fav, camille, such generous gesture and it's much appreciated.
@jannkc - thank you, jann, that is so kind of you. yesterday when after doing exercises we were asked to read what we had written, i had to 'pass' the first time. i heard the first two writers and there was all this verbiage that made me feel so inadequate. but then as the morning progressed, i suddenly thought of my late writing mentor's advice to me when i first started writing: write in a way that your reader will understand; don't make your reader reach for a dictionary. it took three writing exercises so when the free writing came after lunch, i didn't care that i was first to finish. i was glad because then i had time to take photos outside before we read again. hopefully i'd get back into writing more and photographing a little less.
Well how nice of him to do that for you and definitely a very kind gesture on your part, even though you had ulterior motives fo a photo op hahaha. But then again any good 365er would have thought the same way. Nice flowers by the way. No barbque for us today. We took Melody's Dad out for dinner to the Olive Garden
@bkbinthecity - hahahaha! but i gave it to him first before i took the photos. most times i'd take the photo first before giving the flowers to him. :-) thank you, brian.
@myhrhelper - thank you, kathy. i'm still trying to convince partner to take at least the small p&s with him so he can take photos of the places he scouts. i think he is just afraid to get hooked haha! but i think he prefers that i'm into photography rather than writing because then he can come with me when i take photographs. with writing i need to be alone most times.
@myautofocuslife - thank you, livia. oh, he had things to do while waiting for me so he didn't exactly stay in one place. :-)
@meoprisan - thank you, mihaela. framing is from ipiccy!
Beautiful photo, summerfield ...the clarity, color, and framing are awesome. Read your piece of writing and think that it's fantastic. Something that I want to continue to read!! You are so talented in so many ways.
@summerfield Hi my friend! No, I just took a break and concentrated on hubby and family for awhile. Relaxed and took a photoshop class. Now that class almost made me quit photography!! The teacher said that you HAD to know it in order to "edit" your photos in today's world of photography. I got so frustrated with the app ... and the teacher! I don't want to move an apple to the top of a fence post! So I had to think about what I wanted to do. Am back to just taking a photo as best as I can and little or no editing on picasa or some other simple one. Way behind on comments, but I'll do the best that I can. Missed you too, summerfield. :)
@karenann - don't worry about trying to catch up with comments, you'll go crazy! as to photoshop, i think that as long as you take good photos, which you absolutely do, may i remind you, you don't need it. if i want to put an apple at the top of a fence, i'll just get an apple, put it there and shoot it. hehe!
Beautiful gesture. Love hearing stories like this. Shows that romance is still alive. Great capture. Great lighting and composition.
As for your writing....Wow! Stunning. Chilling yet shows the complexity of love. My favorite line: "You are like an impending storm in the horizon."
What a writing talent you have too!
