it was attacking a squirrel's carcass when i spotted him way ahead. partner was going very slow because he didn't want to spook the bird, so slow i wanted to extend my left foot and step on the darn gas. "what kind of bird is it?" he asked. yes, he asked me, he who grew up around that place, a farming town, and he asked me, the city girl what kind of bird it was. good thing i knew by the ugly looks of it, that it was a buzzard.
then when we got near, and before i could take a photo, a car came from behind, almost flying. the bird flew towards me and i got startled i gave a shriek. it veered and i recovered to take a few shots.
in my bucket list for this year, i have to take a photo of a bird in flight. my luck, it had to be a turkey buzzard. methinks i shall try again preferably something not as ugly as this guy. oy!
