i went to the allan gardens this afternoon. after 265 shots, i sure felt beat. walking back to the subway, these two guys were ahead of me, pushing one of those machines used for heating food in a restaurant. actually it was just being pushed by the guy wearing white shirt. when i passed him, he was panting and swearing on the phone calling for help. the guy in tan jacket came shortly and after a few steps both of them were short of breath from this heavy thing.
well, i felt genuinely sorry for them, but thought of how unsmart it was to carry this thing out on the sidewalk and it seemed they had quite a long way to take this thing to. however, it was a different ball game for me when i crossed the street. i hesitatingly took my camera out and still deciding whether it was wise or rude to take a photo. but looking at them from across the street, i thought it was kind of funny, especially at one point, the guy in white shirt was almost parallel to the sidewalk pushing that darn thing up the short incline at the corner, and the other guy was beet red pulling it, but only moved just a quarter of an inch maybe. people were looking finding it funny or stupid.
here came a tall and skinny handsome guy who looked like keith urban, sized them up, asked if he could help. they must've agreed because next thing you know he's pushing the thing with them but while the two guys were obviously labouring, the keith urban look-alike was so relaxed and the darn thing moved up. and off they went into the sunset somewhere. or maybe just another restaurant.
@gemtumble - thank you, gemma. i sometimes think it is not nice to capture someone who's in pain or obviously labouring like those two. but it was almost comedic so...
OMG! Leave it to you, Vikki, to give me my best laugh of the day! I thought I'd come over and see what you have been up to. I saw the frantic moving collage...and was like " yep! Good decision to come see Vikki!" This cracked me up! And that dude does look like K Urban and he does look relaxed. He probably did not need to push much..he just put them over the edge to be strong enough to roll it. I am so so so glad you took pics...and btw..did they ever notice you?
@espyetta - am so glad i can give you your laugh of the day, MB. and no, they're too busy trying to figure out how to move that thing to have noticed me. thank you, MB.
The best part of the collage (which also speaks volumes about intelligence) is that there are no women involved in this ridiculous moving project! lol Oh, and if this was a union job- there'd be 5 men standing there just watching while these two pushed it up the ramp! It's always smart to have that camera handy! Great job!
omg love this! totally put a smile on my face today....and i needed it! - - so thanks. I am so glad you "documented" this big undertaking.....you know boys - - they are generally not good at planning and/or thinking things out. There were probably a couple wives at home asking them "now HOW are you going to get it from Point A to Point B?!?!"......lol
I don't think you were rude, I would have done the same ;-)
@sarasdadandmom - nobody obviously sat down to think about it; just the push and pull kind of people! thank you, terry.
@steeler - thank you, howard.
@netkonnexion - thank you, damon.
@salza - i wanted to show what i thought was happening because everybody thought was such a funny story. glad you like it. thank you, sally.
@eniaral - thank you, laraine.
